Remember: digraphs (e.g. sh, ch) and trigraphs (e.g. igh) on one stone - they make one sound! |

Make your child aware of the beginning and end sounds of a word, then the middle sound.
i.e. “What sound do you hear at the start of the word?”

cOLOUR THE PHONEMES (SOUNDS)
Ask your child to write out each word with the target sound in a different colour. This could also be easily done on the computer for older students. For example:
